Puriozo’s products generate ozone (O3), a powerful disinfectant and sterilizer, by electrolyzing pure water using an ozone generator that does not produce carcinogenic nitrogen oxide. An efficient gas-water mixing device is employed to effectively dissolve ozone in the water.
For over a century, ozone has been recognized as a natural disinfectant and sanitizer. It offers a rapid, efficient, and comprehensive germicidal treatment that eliminates common viruses and bacteria, effectively reducing unpleasant odors. Additionally, ozone does not leave any residue behind after its use.
Ozonated water serves multiple purposes and offers various benefits in different applications:
Oral hygiene: Utilizing ozonated water for brushing and rinsing teeth can effectively eliminate bacteria in the oral cavity, thereby preventing the formation of dental plaque.
Facial care: Ozonated water is beneficial for facial cleansing as it possesses sterilizing properties, ensuring a thorough and hygienic facial care routine.
Food sanitation: Soaking vegetables, fruits, meat, and seafood in ozonated water proves highly effective in removing residual pesticides from produce, degrading meat hormones, and decomposing heavy metals present in seafood products.
Laundry and product disinfection: Ozonated water is a valuable resource for cleaning children’s clothing, adult underwear, and various children’s products like milk bottles and toys. It efficiently sterilizes and disinfects the surface of clothing and products, promoting a healthy and clean environment.
Tap water disinfection: Ozonated water can be employed to disinfect and eliminate pathogens in tap water, ensuring the water is safe for consumption and use.
Hand hygiene: Using ozonated water to clean hands proves highly effective in killing viruses and bacteria present on the skin surface, reducing the risk of cross-infection.
Wound care: Ozonated water is also useful for cleaning wounds and treating infections caused by bacteria, viruses, or fungi. It effectively disinfects and cleanses the wound’s surface, promoting a healthy healing process.
How does ozonated water work?
Ozone is a potent oxidant, and the sterilization process involving it is classified as a biochemical oxidation reaction. There are three primary mechanisms through which O3 sterilization operates:
- Oxidation of enzymes: Ozone has the capability to oxidize the enzymes responsible for glucose breakdown within bacteria. This oxidative action leads to the inactivation and subsequent death of the bacteria.
- Direct interaction with microorganisms: Ozone interacts directly with bacteria and viruses, resulting in the destruction of their organelles, DNA, and RNA. This process disrupts their metabolism, ultimately leading to the death of the microorganisms.
- Disruption of bacterial cell membranes: Ozone is able to penetrate the bacterial cell membranes and target the lipoproteins present in the outer membrane, as well as the lipopolysaccharides inside. This interaction causes distortion, dissolution, and ultimately the death of the bacteria by compromising their permeability.
Removing agricultural residues
Ozone molecules possess powerful oxidizing properties. Moreover, when present in aqueous solutions, they have the capacity to produce a significant quantity of hydroxyl radicals and monoatomic oxygen. These reactive species have the ability to engage in reactions with residual organic phosphorus or pyrethroid pesticides found on vegetables and fruits, resulting in the formation of corresponding acids, alcohols, amines, or their oxides. It is worth noting that the majority of these small-molecule compounds are soluble in water and non-toxic, making them easily removable through washing processes.
